Gregory H. Anderson
Co-Founder, Director, Chief Executive Officer
As a Founder, Director, and Chief Executive Officer, Greg is responsible for overall business direction and resource allocation, with a special focus on Product Development and Sales & Marketing strategy. In a rapidly growing company, solid planning and execution is the key to ongoing success. Greg believes in helping everyone associated with the company – employees, customers, and owners – unlock and maximize their talents for collective benefit in the important work we do for the pediatric community.
Prior to his involvement in Connexin, Greg founded Anderson Financial Systems in 1982, after studying international economics at the Georgetown University School of Foreign Service. He was the primary architect of the afs:TRADE system and has almost 30 years of experience managing the development of sophisticated Wall Street trading applications. Greg has also participated in several outreach and volunteer projects with his work for Habitat for Humanity and the ISSA Trust Foundation.
Co-Founder, Director, Chief Client Officer
Fred is a Founder, Director, and original CEO of Connexin Software. He currently serves as Chief Client Officer, a position from which he plans and executes strategy for his favorite saying: "Take care of the customer, and the rest will follow." To that end, he directs improvements in the total customer experience for our users, from their first contact as a sales prospect through implementation, training, and regular renewals of the customer relationship.
Fred started in Information Technology with a mission to develop an evolutionary suite of specialty software designed to support the patient/practitioner encounter while providing a comprehensive high quality Medical Practice Management software solution. As the original Founder, he created Office Practicum and maintains his deep involvement in its design and development.
Fred lives in Brooklyn with his wife, Edna.
Michael J. Matlack
Co-Founder, President, Chief Operating Officer
As a Founder, President, and Chief Operating Officer, Mike is the culture czar and the grease in the machine that is Connexin Software. Every day he is thankful to work with a team where members work hard, have fun, and truly care about customers.
Prior to his involvement with Connexin, he was President of Anderson Financial Systems. At AFS, Mike was responsible for application design and customer relationship management, with a special emphasis on creating strong internal systems for release management. His experience spans over 25 years of software development and systems engineering, including positions at General Electric’s Global Research and NeXT Computer, Inc.
Mike earned his Masters in Computer Systems Engineering at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and his Bachelors degree in Computer Engineering at Lehigh University.
Mike, who likes to spend his free time indulging in a big bowl of Turkey Hill’s Mint Choco Chip ice cream, lives with his wife, Carol, and son, Joseph, in Cherry Hill, NJ. Their other three children are pursuing their passions elsewhere.
Ira Riesenberg, CPA
Chief Financial Officer
As Chief Financial Officer, Ira is responsible for the financial strategy, planning and administration of Connexin. He has over 25 years of experience managing fast-growing technology companies, including; Intrasphere Technologies, an international professional services company providing consulting services to life sciences organizations, which was acquired by Deloitte Consulting in 2011; Wimba, a leading provider of collaborative learning software applications and services; Dynamicsoft, a telecommunications software company that was acquired by Cisco Systems in 2004; Juno Online Services, one of the nation's leading Internet Service Providers, which IPO'd in 1999; AXS-One, an international ERP financial software company, which IPO'd in 1995.
While at these companies Ira was responsible for strategic planning and operations, where he effectively impacted top line revenues and bottom line profitability. Additional responsibilities included raising capital, mergers and acquisitions, implementing financial reporting and budget processes, human resources and corporate governance.
Ira earned a Bachelors of Business Administration in Accounting from Pace University, where he was Pace Setter, the school mascot at football games. He lives with his wife Rhonda in Scotch Plains, NJ, while his 2 children enjoy life at college.
Susan J. Kressly, MD, FAAP
Dr. Kressly has been in pediatric private practice since 1989 in Bucks County, PA. In addition to using Office Practicum since 2004, she is very active in practice management and HIT initiatives. Sue is a member of the Council on Clinical Information Technology and the Section on Administration and Practice Management of the AAP, as well as the Quality Improvement Innovation Network and Pediatric Research in the Office Setting. She serves on the executive board of the Pennsylvania Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics and serves as chair of the Pediatric Council/Practice Management Committee. She is involved in PA HIT efforts including the PA-eHealth Initiative, served as advisor to the PA Regional Extension Center vendor selection committee, and was the original beta tester for the real-time bidirectional PA-SIIS. She also maintains a Pediatric-related Information Technology blog, Pediatrician IT Chat, that discusses topics important to electronic pediatric practices.
Sue is committed to advancing pediatric functionality in HIT and giving practicing pediatricians a voice in software advancement. As the company's Medical Director, she believes one of her critical roles in Connexin Software is to be the pediatrician's advocate. She continues to run her own NCQA-Level 3 Medical Home practice where Office Practicum software advancements are alpha-tested.
Sue lives in Doylestown with her husband, Greg, CEO of Connexin Software. In their spare time when they are not passionately discussing Office Practicum, they enjoy time at the beach and playing a competitive game of Scrabble.
Cheryl Van Allen
Chief Sales Officer
Cheryl serves as the guiding force behind business development at Connexin. Responsible for the growth and direction of the sales organization, Cheryl maintains the role of Chief Sales Officer, leading the development and deployment of new strategies to educate pediatricians on the benefits of integrating Office Practicum technology.
Cheryl is committed to advancing the adoption of leading-edge health information technology in the pediatric community. With over 25 years of experience in healthcare administration and sales, Cheryl has worked exclusively in pediatrics for the past 15 years. She was first introduced to Office Practicum when, as a former Practice Administrator of a pediatric group, she led the search and implementation process for an EHR/PM solution for her own practice. As such, Cheryl understands the unique considerations of pediatric practices as they research, select and implement EHR/PM solutions and uses that experience to build the consultative Connexin sales program. She has also worked as a Senior Pediatric Biological Products Specialist for Sanofi Pasteur, a global pediatric vaccine manufacturer. Prior to her experience in pediatrics, Cheryl worked in healthcare administration as a Licensed Skilled Nursing Facility Administrator for Regency Health Services and in early healthcare technology sales.
Cheryl holds a B.A. in Psychology from San Diego State University in California. In her free time, Cheryl is the lead singer for the cover band "Three Drink Minimum". She lives in California with her husband Mark and their two children. They enjoy participating in their children's sports activities as well as hiking, biking and kayaking on the beautiful central coast of California.
Edna Anne Pytlak, MD, FAAP
Co-Founder, Office Practicum
Dr. Pytlak has been a practicing pediatrician for 25 years. She graduated from Albany Medical College in 1983 and completed her residency at Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY. She and her partners, Dr. O’Connor and Dr. Dalton, have a pediatric practice in the Brooklyn Heights section of New York with over 4000 active patients. The office is a preceptor site for medical students from Weill Cornell Medical College where she is an assistant professor of outpatient pediatrics. She is also preceptor for nurse practitioner students from Pace University.
One of the original Office Practicum Founders, Dr. Pytlak has retained an ongoing role in assuring Office Practicum's development always meets the core medical management functions currently needed by active practitioners in the field. Dr. Pytlak’s office is the alpha-test site that validates every upgrade and revision to Office Practicum before its release to our general client base.
Edna lives in Brooklyn with her husband, Fred.
Kevin P. Fahey
Chairman of the Connexin Board
Kevin is Chairman of the Connexin Board and is a Managing Director at Bluff Point Associates. Prior to joining Bluff Point, Kevin was Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Healthland,a Health Care Information Technology company owned by a Private Equity firm. His responsibilities included strategic planning, mergers and acquisitions, debt financing, and all financial oversight.
Kevin has spent the last 20 years in domestic and international high technology venture and private equity backed companies. Responsibilities have included strategic planning, Initial Public Offerings (IPO), equity and debt financing, mergers and acquisitions, SEC reporting, full profit and loss management, and operations.
Kevin received a Bachelors of Business Administration (BBA) in Accounting from Saint Bonaventure University. He is also a certified public accountant.
